Cardioid polar pattern
The built-in boom microphone on the BPHS1 features a cardioid polar pattern. Cardioid mics are very directional. They’re sensitive from the front, less sensitive on the sides, and offer excellent rejection from the rear. Because these mics reject sound from the rear, they do a great job of eliminating feedback and unwanted background noise.
